About of this car
Our Karmann Ghia, a Type 14 example, was first registered on 15. 07. 1971 and has had 6 former keepers.
This effortlessly stylish example wears a stunning two tone paint job: a solid dark blue roof over a mid-metallic blue body contrasted with a cherry red interior. Dark blue wheels, white wall tyres and chrome wheel embellishers contribute to a really sensational looking car.
At some point it has been converted to right hand steering from left, and had a quality restoration in the UK in around 2014, with history going back to the mid 1980s.
As self-evidenced by the superior condition, it has always been looked after and cherished, having enjoyed regular use and heated storage during the current owner’s 5 year tenure.
It is supplied with a thick wad of invoices, original 1971 owner’s handbook in English and other literature, plus tool and jacking kits.
Bodywork
This is the reason to buy this example as the bodywork has been restored to a very high, factory like standard, work today which would cost a fortune to replicate. Panel fitment is good, with paintwork which is thin and lovely, a very few tiny age related marks as you would expect but overall a stunning paint job - everyone who sees it agrees.
Mechanicals
Our car is fitted with the bigger AD series 1600cc motor and performance air filter, a good cold/ hot starter with the electric fuel pump modification and driving very well on test and sure gets a lot of positive looks!
Interior
A generous 2+2 space, our car was retrimmed in 2014 with a top class OE trimming kit supplied by TMI in California. It’s a great place to be with unmarked cherry red upholstery, matching red carpets and even colour coded seat belts with the period Bluespot radio completing the look.

Spotlessly clean, spare wheel, tool and jacking kits present.
