Triumph's TR Series began with the unveiling of a prototype (the TR1) at the 1952 London Motorshow. The TR2 was launched the following year, and so began a series of two-seater sports cars that ended in 1981 with the last of the TR8s. The evolution was steady but continuous and the TR6 unveiled in 1968 was effectively a cleverly updated TR5; the body revisions for which were penned not by the TR5's Italian designer, Michelotti, but the team at Karmann, Germany. The car's underpinnings were broadly as per the TR5 and a total of 94, 619 TR6s were produced.
Finished in Signal red, this TR6 has been freshly restored to a high standard by our vendor and prospective buyers are invited to inspect the plethora of photographs of the car during restoration from mid 2024. Originally equipped with fuel injection (being a CP model), VTC 921C benefits from a replacement engine which has been overhauled and breathes through carburettors, a far more reliable and easy to work on setup compared to the often temperamental fuel injection fitted as standard. Running smoothly and sounding well at time of consignment, gears engage smoothly with overdrive on third and fourth. Mazda MX-5 seats are currently fitted, however, the original seats are included in worn condition. Offered with photo album of restoration and current V5C.
