When Porsche’s engineers were allocated the resources to develop the 911 after years of stagnation in the early 1980s, progress was swift. First came the 964 in 1989, which brought numerous performance and drivability updates the car had been lacking. Fast on its heels came the 993 in 1994 – a car that has since become renowned for its status as the final air-cooled 911. With dramatic exterior styling updates and a brand-new multi-link suspension, the 993-generation 911 fully brought the car into the modern era. A roomier interior and, for 1996, the introduction of VarioRam for extra horsepower, ensured the 993 exceeded the expectations of the company’s most dedicated clients.
Offered for only two short years (1997 and 1998), the 993-generation 911 Carrera S is one of the more rare variations of the model. Much as the Carrera 4S (first released in 1996), the 993 Carrera S featured the Turbo’s wider body, wider tires, and stiffer suspension. However, unlike the 4S, the S was rear wheel drive, making it the more enthusiast-oriented model between the two. A model-specific “twin grille” spoiler helps differentiate the S from its brethren.
The investment-grade 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera S Sunroof Coupe featured here is finished in stunning gloss Black over an impeccably kept Black leather interior. This exceptional example is one of the finest available anywhere on the market today. With only 10, 333 actual miles and presented in impeccable condition, this is the perfect example to add to any premier collection. Because of the rarity of this highly sought-after model, I personally believe the investment potential will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who demands to own one of the very best at an investment price!
