A right-hand drive example originally supplied new in South Africa and imported to Portugal by its first owner in 1991.
Finished in its period beige colour scheme, this W123 presents as an honest and largely original example of one of Mercedes-Benz's most respected models. The car retains the solid build quality and understated elegance for which the W123 range has become famous.
The odometer currently shows 268, 500 km. The legendary five-cylinder diesel engine starts and runs well, and the car remains complete and unmodified. The engine bay presents honestly and retains much of its original appearance.
Inside, the cabin remains in good overall condition for its age and mileage. The materials have worn well over the years and the interior still offers the comfort and quality expected from a classic Mercedes-Benz saloon.
Having seen little use in recent years, the car should be recommissioned before returning to regular road use. As with any classic vehicle that has spent time off the road, some maintenance and inspection work should be expected to ensure safe and reliable motoring.
The bodywork shows the inevitable signs of four decades of use, including some dents, cosmetic imperfections and areas of corrosion. However, the car remains highly presentable as an honest survivor and could either be enjoyed as it stands or improved further according to the next owner's ambitions. The car is located in northern Portugal, close to Porto Airport, which offers excellent connections throughout Europe. I would be pleased to collect any genuinely interested buyer from the airport.
