There are few post-war British sports cars that capture the spirit of open-air motoring quite like the MGA. Introduced in 1955 to replace the MG TF, its sleek, flowing lines transformed MG’s sports car range and established the MGA as one of the most beautiful and successful British sports cars ever built. With the vast majority exported to North America, genuine UK right-hand drive examples remain comparatively scarce today.
This original UK-supplied right-hand drive 1961 MGA 1600 Roadster is finished in the ever-popular Iris Blue and has benefited from a comprehensive body-off restoration together with a fully rebuilt engine. Having covered fewer than 3, 000 miles since completion, it presents beautifully throughout and is ready to be enjoyed.
The history file is equally impressive. The current owner first purchased the car in the early 1970s before reacquiring it in 2020, making this a particularly unusual and well-documented example. Accompanying the car is a substantial history file containing numerous invoices spanning many years, a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate, an original green VE60 logbook dating from 1968, photographs recording the restoration in progress and the correct Driver’s Handbook.
The weather equipment is all in excellent order, complementing what is an exceptionally well-presented and thoroughly sorted example.
