The Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti 105 is one of the most charismatic sporting hatchbacks of its era, combining Giugiaro-inspired styling with Alfa Romeo's legendary engineering and a free-revving boxer engine that made it a favourite amongst driving enthusiasts. Launched to bring true sporting character to the family car market, the Alfasud quickly earned a reputation for its exceptional handling, responsive steering and unmistakable Italian flair. Today, well-preserved examples have become increasingly sought after, particularly UK-supplied cars with documented provenance and high-quality restoration work.
Finished in classic Alfa Red, this 1983 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti 105 presents beautifully and is a superb example of one of Alfa Romeo's most engaging modern classics. Registered in 1983 and showing just 71, 109 miles, this Alfasud has covered only around 400 miles since its last MOT in 2025, when the odometer recorded 70, 699 miles. Having had nine former keepers, the car has most recently formed part of a significant private collection, where it has been carefully stored in a large dry garage alongside other cherished classics. It has clearly benefited from enthusiast ownership and sympathetic preservation.
A major highlight of this Alfasud's history is the extensive restoration completed in 2020 by the renowned MGOC Workshop in Swavesey. Over £8, 000 was invested in the project, although those familiar with the quality of the workmanship will appreciate that the true value of the restoration far exceeds the invoice total. At the time, the owner had cherished the car for 17 years and was himself the manager of the MGOC restoration workshop, ensuring the work was carried out to an exceptionally high standard with meticulous attention to detail. The restoration involved a comprehensive bare-shell strip-down, restoration and renovation, resulting in the outstanding example offered today. The original wheels are also retained and accompany the car in the boot.
Further supporting the quality of the restoration is an Alfa Romeo Owners Club Valuation Certificate confirming the car as a genuine UK-supplied example. Issued in 2022, the club valued the car at £22, 500 and specifically acknowledges the exceptional standard of its meticulous rebuild and comprehensive restoration.
The accompanying history file is equally impressive and includes a USB memory stick containing an incredible 676 photographs documenting the restoration from start to finish. It is rare to find such a comprehensive photographic record, providing complete transparency and an invaluable archive of the work undertaken. Also included are the original Alfa Romeo instruction book, the original stamped service book, a Haynes workshop manual, the original car radio manual and supporting documentation, making this an exceptionally complete and well-documented example.
With values of exceptional Alfasuds continuing to strengthen, opportunities to acquire a UK car restored to this level, supported by outstanding provenance and comprehensive history, are becoming increasingly scarce.
