EXTERIOR
Having resided on Japan's unsalted roads from new until 2018 when it was imported into the UK, this attractive 4-litre ‘TJ’ remains in very solid rust-free condition. Understood to be one of less than 500 Sahara Plus models produced, it’s equipped with body-coloured wheel arch flares for a sleeker, more modern look while still retaining that classic Jeep aesthetic; a number of chrome touches unique to the edition set this one apart even more. Having just been treated to a polish by our in-house detailer, the body has a great shine but does present with some age-related patina, as can be expected with such original paintwork. The contrasting tan soft-top is immaculate and folds away with ease.
INTERIOR
The black leatherette seat coverings present in excellent unmarked condition throughout. The whole interior is very tidy with a number of great features including ice-cold air conditioning, cruise control, and a touchscreen multimedia system for modern convenience. The original carpets remain in fine condition and the headlining is unmarked. The leather steering wheel feels great in hand and everything works as it should.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4-litre straight-six starts up first turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. The engine bay is notably clean and tidy, not overly dressed but in excellent original condition with no signs of any rust, damage or previous poor repair. Equipped with the upgraded heavy-duty Dana 44 rear axle, the mechanics and 4x4 system of the car all work as they should. The automatic transmission is surprisingly smooth and handles the engine's power perfectly through the gears. For the new keeper’s peace of mind, the car comes freshly serviced at the current mileage with MOT until June 2027.
HISTORY FILE
This rare 4. 0 Sahara Plus was supplied new by Yanase Chrysler Jeep in Japan in 2006. It was imported in 2018 and has now seen 3 UK keepers. Boasting only 72k miles (116k km), the Jeep has just been serviced and fully checked over by one of our trusted local workshops, so it’s ready to be driven and very much enjoyed this summer.
