What is it?
Introduced in 1996, the second-generation Wrangler is easily identified by the round headlamps from the classic Jeep models. This updated Wrangler featured a modern coil-spring suspension, offering significantly improved ride quality.
What’s it got?
This unmodified example with only 79k miles was supplied new by Dick Lovett in 1997 with the 181 BHP 4. 0 Litre straight six engine and a five speed manual gearbox and fully detachable soft roof
How does it drive?
Like a jeep should, the 4. 0 engine pulls smoothly and offers plenty of power. TJ's are lively but are perfectly usable for everyday duties. Jeeps are easy to live with, they fit in car parks spaces, parts are readily available but most importantly they are great fun!!
Why this one?
Finding unmodified examples is getting harder and harder, this example presents very well in Forest green metallic paint and tan hood with original side decals and smart grey cloth interior trim.

The underside has been thoroughly steam cleaned a new coat of clear waxoyl applied to preserve the vehicle for many years to come.
Wranglers make for a great spring and summer vehicle with a fully detachable roof and option to remove the doors entirely!
The car drives very well and has clearly been cherished by the last owner who more recently undertook some rolling maintenance including a full service, new battery, alternator, ball joints, front brake calipers and pads, wheel cylinders, brake pipes and unions.

In the 1997 Jeep Wrangler, the windscreen could be easily folded down onto the bonnet. This feature was introduced as a nod to the original military Jeeps, allowing the driver and passengers to enjoy a full open-air experience
