It is very difficult to find sufficient superlatives to describe this car. You really need to come and see it to appreciate the five years of toil and £18, 000+ of pocket money that has gone into its creation (not mine I hasten to add).
The TA22 Celica is without doubt one of the prettiest cars ever to come out of the Orient, but the standard car is somewhat lacking in grunt. Even the GT, which is held in such high esteem, could be trounced by the average Mondeo. So the weedy 4-pot from this one has been supplanted by an altogether more appropriate TVR-spec V8 with a double pumper Holley, Mallory ignition and a 5-speed manual gearbox. So now, it not only looks like a 60s muscle car, it also sounds like one, but is considerably quicker. It will also fit in your garage and still leave room for your lawnmower...
Of course, there are cheaper ones about (I've owned a couple of them myself), but this is the original car that inspired the others and if you want the best, then look no further.
It would take far too long tell you all about the adjustable suspension, 4-pot calipers, vented discs, American Ford 8" diff, etc - better you come and admire the workmanship for yourself (provided, of course, that you are a serious buyer) - I'm based just outside Ayesbury in Buckinghamshire.
