61000 miles Mechanics Rebuilt only 350 miles ago (will require 1000 mile checks on the engine and bearings as with new cars of this age due to the extent of teh rebuild).
Awaiting new MOT (SORN).
This is NOT a project car but needs a future show car.
The bad points to this car;
At present it is the paint work, whilst in reasonable order would not meet show conditions.
The interior will require a small amount of attention with some leatherwork and a few tempramental switches to attend too.
Aa few broken hoses have presented themselves and this work is in the order of £160 to rectify - lattest quotation price.
The Good Bits (this section is much longer);
Work Completed So-far:-
ENGINE
All the nuts bolts, washers, clips and ancillaries have been stripped from the engine together with front and rear suspension - these have been chemically cleaned and re-plated back to production line new; yellow passivated.
All the engine castings, con-rods, pistons, valves etc have been thoroughly cleaned, checked and prepared before reassembly. All new bearings, piston rings and a full gasket set (valve stem seals, all oil seals, O rings etc. replaced).
This is virtually a new engine, as a result the emissions are very low (as can be seen from the report on first page of the photobucket link, below).
TORQUE TUBE
New bearings and refit.
COOLANT SYSTEM
Radiator replaced with good second hand one.
AUTO GEARBOX
3 speed auto box - rusty oil/ water removed after failure of the auto box oil cooler. Stripped and Rebuilt the auto box valve body to this box. Sourced a newly rebuilt 3 speed box complete with torque converter.
BRAKES
Each calliper stripped down, phosphate dipped and rebuilt, discs not replaced as were actually all OK, and just needed a good clean, new pads all round - parking shoes almost new.
SUSPENSION
Completely stripped down, all adjusters un-seized, and lubed up. Shocks all OK, springs all OK. Front and rear Camber Castor and camber adjusters got re-plated, so now all like new - and actually move!
FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
Injection system completely refurbished, stripped and Fuel distributor cleaned (all filter baskets present and clean) Stripped and recalibrated WUR heater. Flow and pattern tested. As you see the engine, gearbox and running gear have been overhauled and rebuilt together with many parts that have been re-anodised - yellow passivated. (only covered 350 miles since work completed - photo's of rebuild available).
OUTSTANDING WORK - (still to to be completed or being currently worked on)
Some work still required to the interior and exterior paint work. other areas of interest to be undertaken as part of the paint / bodywork.
This is a car well worth looking at and with the work already done represents a true bargain for the right person.
MOT till November 2012 (currently SORN).
