1937 Rolls Royce 25/ 30 Hooper Limousine with divison.
This is a concours car in as new condition. You have to see the car to believe how good she is & how close to new. She has covered less then 2000 miles since her restoration.
She was originally run for many many years by her first owners on the log book who were a firm of funeral directors & used her to follow a Phantom II hearse. Over 20 years ago she was acquired by the second recorded owner who was a fastidious collector. He embarked upon a lavish restoration program of the car to bring her back to "As new" Specification. We have a massive history file attesting to this with close to 100 pages of bills & detailed documented descriptions of all that has been done.
Mechanically she is in incredible condition & drives like a new car. Her engine rebuild alone cost £46, 000. 00 & was done by noted marque specialists A & S Engineering. Her engine is silent & starts first time every time. Her oil pressure initially reads off the clock, but settles down to well over 30Lbs which is above manufacturers specificationo of 25lbs. Her water never goes above 70 degrees. She drirves with the kind of silence & precision that Rolls Royce cars are justly famous for. Her suspension was completely rebuilt as were her clutch, brakes, starter, dynamo, etc etc etc. The list of things done is incredible & may only be fully appreciated by taking a couple of hours to read through the restoration folder.
Her paint work is in a delightful two tone cream colour scheme with a period hand applied red pin strip to accent it. The paint work is FLAWLESS & of the highest standard I have ever seen. It was again done at eye watering expense by marque specialists. At the same time New ash framing was fabricated to the correct hooper patterns & grafted into the doors to replace the old woodwork. As a result the doors have perfect alignment & shut perfectly with a satisfying thunk, exhibiting none of the drooping so common on these older vehicles.
All her bright work has been re-chromed including the headlamps, horns, door handles etc etc etc. She has 5 brand new tyres & has the correct rattle free wheel discs also painted to colour. After painting she wax waxoyld underneath several times to keep her in perfect order even in the parts not readily accessible.
Her interior has new deep vermillion carpets to the front & rear. The front seats are to the correct hooper form & are covered in thick sumptuous burgundy connoly leather & again are in as new condition as they have hardly been sat on. Likewise to the rear the seats are trimmed in "as new" buff connoly leather as are the two fold out occasional seats that have never been sat in. She is equipped to the rear with a large period motoring trunk, also re-trimmed to as new condition. To the inside is a power operated division controlled by dual buttons to either side of the rear seat. Her interior woodwork was all removed, stripped, sanded & re-lacquered to a high standard. Her burl walnut is highly figured & a beautiful thing to behold.
She was of course completely rewired with modern copper wire in a period covering. Thus all the interior lights work perfectly as do all other ancillary items. The twin horns have a lovely mellow tone to them. Dash Interior lights work perfectly etc etc.
My description of the car cannot begin to sum up the incredible experience that comes from actually driving her. Only a very very few lucky people will ever have the pleasure of owning & driving such a vehicle. She is of a standard where she would fit well in any collection, or just to be garaged & kept for memorable runs on high days & holidays. This is an opportunity to own an incredible Rolls Royce with none of the reliability issues of older more neglected cars & needing absolutely no expenditure on her whatsoever. She will make an excellent long term appreciating investment.
