Beschreibung
For sale is my rare Citroen 2CV AZPO (6V suicide door model, 425cc) first registered in January 1960. This car has been renovated by a French enthusiast in the heart of the Medoc, SW France.
During the renovation, the engine was stripped down and refurbished. New parts were fitted as required. New floors (quarter panels) also lower bulkhead were fitted in October 2014. In addition various new trim parts, such as seat covers/ elastics, new door cards, new rubber floor mats and mirrors were replaced by myself to complete the renovation plus a new roof from Matt’s Soft tops.
The chassis was replaced during the renovation and is as new. The engine, gearbox and centrifugal clutch are in excellent condition.
The 2CV AZPO (‘ripple bonnet’ model) was introduced in 1954 and produced until 1959. The ‘PO’ refers to ‘POussiere’ (dust) or ‘Pays Outre-mer’ (overseas) and were sold in very limited numbers as they were special orders. The PO was designed for more rugged terrain as the front and rear axles were better protected and the air filter was an ‘oil bath’, which allowed the filter box to be filled with oil to help filter out sand/ dust particles. The PO models also had enlarged tubular front bumpers (which is similar to the later ‘adventure/ safari bumpers.)
This rare car is in excellent condition and viewing is highly recommended. The car is in Hampshire and import documentation will be completed before the sale. All initial enquiries by email. Offers invited around £9, 500.
