1957 BMW R26 250cc Single Pot Four Stroke.
4 Speed gearbox.
Originally From Boksburg, Transval, South Africa.
UK registered in 2002. ( Reg: No: HAS 609 )
Matching Frame and Engine numbers, Both 354457
Lots and lots of history, many South African tax disc's + many UK tax disc's / various receipts and bills / 3 keepers since UK registered in 2002 / Dating Certificate from Southern African Veteran & Vintage Association / a letter from BMW Motorrad GmbH + Co. stating that the motorcycle was built in 1957 in the Munich branch of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG and was delivered to the dealer CLUB GARAGE in Pretoria on May 22, 1957.
Workshop manual / Original BMW Parts book / Many many bills etc.
Classed as HISTORIC VEHICLE hence free road tax and mot exempt.
Last used in 2014 and garage since.
The BMW R26 starts first kick and seems to run and ride very well but could do with a good run out or carb / fuel tank strip out and clean out as the fuel smells stale.
All keys / original ignition key / inc tank toolbox key and fuel cap key.
All in all a good clean tidy example of this rare machine.
Box of spares included from last owner, Spare headlight shell / spare NOS Genuine BMW Speedo with zero mile / Rear passenger pegs / throttle cable / various carb bits and bobs / rear light lens and chrome bezzle / spare black points cover / a spare piston with two valves from a top end rebuild. etc
