In 1952 Land Rover got the contract for 2500 vehicles and Minerva was to assemble them under licence in Belgium with the assistance from Land Rover. Chassis, axles, transmission and many other parts were supplied by Land Rover. All vehicles were left-hand driven 80" models with 2-litre engine. The front wings were squared off and sloping, the bodywork was made of steel and the front grille was smaller and had the Minerva badge.
This particular example was imported from Belgium earlier in the year and then UK registered. It runs well, has a very sound chassis, a decent interior and hood, new steering box and king pins, 4 new tyres, and in lovely largely original condition. It comes with a new MOT although exempt. Not to be confused with the cheaper unregistered examples without MOT, this nevertheless represents a low cost way into the delights of Series 1 Land Rovers. Reduced to £5, 950.
