This is a fantastic looking car and drives just as good, engine is great.
Doesn’t need anything apart from being enjoyed.
Last owner bought it in 1980 from the Rally World Champion Timo Salonen. The car had gone through some service restoration and carried a red wine coloured paint. The colour did not satisfy the new owner, so it went through detailed restorations over several years. It got re-painted by BMW’s own colour scheme, which is the current colour. The new owner wanted dual-colour-scheme, which worked really well to a car with that height.
Engine got re-built by retired BMW mechanic. When the engine work finally got completed and fitted in to the car, it smoked. The engine work cost lots of time and money and that really upset the owner. The car ended up at that point at a museum in Uusikaupunki, Finland where it stayed a few years. After that the owner was ready to take it under the restoration work again. The engine and technic was gone through (please see attached pictures) by a very skilled technician Pekka Uurtamo (Mr. Uutamo has been granted with restoration prizes on EMW 340 and EMW 327 sport cabrioletin 1955 to name a few). The new owner did not touch the interior at any time, it is partly original and partly been restored by previous owner.
Unfortunately, there is not full owner´s history available, but it is believed to have been owned by Salonen’s family. Museum registration was carried out in 2006. After that barely driven, very few, occasional trips to keep the running gear in order.

The car is in Finland and can be shipped to your front door in the UK or worldwide, please ask for a price. Shipping to Southampton & Harwich costs £650 and is to be added to the final price.
There is no import duty to pay into the UK as it is classed as -Movement of goods within the EU (UK is still part of the EU) but of course you can look into this yourself, I can help out with the registration process.
