Morris Oxford MO
Designed by Alex Issigonis and introduced to the market in 1948 the MO Oxford is the big brother of the Morris Minor. Offering unit construction, torsion bar suspension, side-valve engine, four-speed column gear change and genuine four seat leather interior survivors today are extremely rare and highly sought after.
We are delighted to offer for sale an absolutely superb Morris MO Series I (narrow grill). Our car was registered on 30th November 1950 to Mr Robert Drage, a farmer in Cambridgeshire. He used the car extremely rarely although this did include the odd night rabbit shoot – hence the hunter lamp. The car was bought and totally restored by the second owner in 2007/ 08 before passing to just the third owner in 2010.
The body work is in outstanding condition and the chassis is still green paint with a coating of clear waxoil. The 1500cc side valve engine runs extremely smoothly and the factory optional twin carburettors fitted from new means the car keeps up well with modern traffic. The column change is a delight and the green leather interior bench seats, metal dash rear blind and rare PYE valve radio give a genuine 1950’s experience. The history folder contains the original buff log, old MOTs, invoices etc. and the car has an indicated mileage of just 33, 000 miles
In show condition and with just three owners from new this is a rare opportunity to purchase an early MO and we urge early viewing in order to avoid disappointment
