Beschreibung
This is Sid a very rare 1947 Coventry Knight Caravan/ showman's vehicle that I have to very reluctantly part with, he is one of a small number of these Rolls Royce of Caravans still alive today. They are show stopping vehicles and the insides are really magical spaces with coach built interiors and dark wood panelling... they are quite unique spaces and really need to be seen in the flesh get to get a real sense of their specialness. They are rarities and very collectable objects a real investment that will only continue to increase in value if you look after him.
I have had him for around 12 years and loved him, adding to his journey by revamping his interior, adding an amazing Hobbit Woodburner and tiled hearth (Gas safety installed) new upholstery, painting the interior, a new cooker and objects that fit the vans era. Again a labour of love that kept his soul intact and didn't disturb his aged Patina!
He has been in many places and provided and income for me over the years, but I have to move in a knew direction so he is calling for a knew person to be his custodian. He could be used for many things, an office, an annexe, a business, a home.. if you are looking for a project that will bring you much joy then Sid could be the one you are looking for and you could put your own unique stamp on him. He is Approx 22 feet long 8/ 9 ft long weighs around ton and half... they have incredible balance when being towed... I will update this in the coming week as I will measure him properly.
If you are serious about making an offer I would suggest seeing him which can be arranged with me in the coming weeks.
He has had work done to him prior to my owning him to rebuild some damage that was done in his Scottish past, roof, some windows etc he sits a little high upon his very sturdy chassis as this must have been replaced at some point in his history, and is how I managed to identify him in pics on the computer when but fairly easy to rectify.
He has most of his coach built interior intact, a fab original kitchen and glass swinging door. He has a back door into the kitchen and a door on the other side too. He has been beautifully reupholstered has a brilliant hobbit woodburner in him. He is old school which I loved for the complete unplugged experience! without electric, but solar panels would be fairly easy to install. He comes fully kitted out with furnishings, furniture crockery etc and is really ready to go.
We have trailered him between homes but moved him easily around the fields he has grazed in! I am sure he could be road towable with bit of work.. we have just never done it.
He would have to be towed on a trailer to his new home but that is not tricky to organise, we have an amazing guy who is very reasonable and we could help you to organise him coming to you.
He is a stunning object and I am very reluctantly selling him as I have to move him and my other Vans from their current home in Devon. I am looking for someone who gets him, who will love and look after him in his next part of his life. He is 1948 so nearly 75 so please take this into account when enquiring about him... he is not a new vehicle! and classics need looking after, so need a special breed of person to be a custodian of one.
He would make the most amazing office space, spare room, Granny annexe! Den, Boutique rental hideaway or any number of potential uses.
This is a rare opportunity to own something truly amazing. For all serious enquiries and more details, please call Sadie.
I am looking for offers around £14, 000 and I am more interested in him going to the right person so sensible offers will be considered.
I am looking for him to be Sold and moved by the end of Aug/ mid September.
Thank you for looking. x
Sadie
