Triumph Vitesse – Body Off Restoration
The Triumph Herald was launched in 1959 and, like the Spitfire, was designed by Giovanni Michelotti. The Vitesse was introduced in May 1962 and the Mk2 followed in 1968 featuring an enlarged 1998cc engine giving sub twelve second 0 to 60mph performance and a top speed in excess of 100mph.
Our 2ltr Convertible is a genuine CV model and was the subject of a body off
photographic restoration seven years ago. Once the body was separated from the chassis all corrosion was removed and new panels/ chassis members fitted where required. Mechanically all components were inspected and replace as required. Since the restoration the car has always been garaged, never used in the rain and remains in stunning condition today
The history folder has lots of photographs, a list of previous owners, MOT’s back to 1984 and a variety of invoices. On the road the car drives superbly with the straight six sound track, lovely gearbox, sharp handling, four seats and sports car performance making this the ideal choice for the classic car enthusiast with a young family
Undervalued for years Vitesse’s prices have risen sharply in recent years and we expect this lovely example to find an appreciative new home quickly.
