MGB Roadster – Heritage Re-shell/ Two owners
The MGB was the sports car launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. The car was a modern design at the time using a monocoque structure that was light, strong, less expensive to manufacture and gave a 0-60mph time of 11 seconds with a top speed of around 100mph.
Our MGB roadster, fitted with desirable overdrive, was owned for 50 years by the first owner and has only had two keepers from new. In the late 1990’s the original owner restored the car using a new heritage body shell and enjoyed the car for a number of road trips before putting the car into storage. Purchased by the second owner in 2016 and recommissioned at a cost in excess of £6, 000, work included replacement wiring loom, brake discs, calipers and lines, new stainless steel exhaust, alternator, new tyres on original disc wheels and a new interior that included seats, door cards, carpets and hood.
The final result is an absolutely lovely car that drives as good as it looks and will provide years of pleasure to the lucky new owner.
