Triumph TR6 – CP Car/ New Chassis
The TR6 was introduced in January 1969 using similar chassis and running gear components to those used in the TR5/ TR250 but with a restyled body by Karmann. While smoothing the lines of the car, wider wheels were also fitted making the car look low, lean and very fast drawing widespread positive comments from the motoring press at the time.
Our CP Series UK market TR6 has been used continuously and maintained regardless of cost by the current owner, a real TR enthusiast. During his ownership the gearbox/ overdrive were rebuilt by Hardy Engineering (including clutch & master cylinder), a body-off replacement CTM chassis fitted (over £8k at Autohistoric) and the engine & rear differential rebuilt.
The body and interior present well with only the minor mark commensurate with age and use. A reassuringly large history folder contains MOT’s & invoices back to 1993 and a summary of all previous owners.
On the road the car is one of the best handling TR6’s you could wish to drive with strong mechanicals, absolutely no corrosion and an addictive straight six sound track.
This well sorted car will provide an (extremely) entertaining drive and give years of pleasure to the lucky new owner.
