After 22 years we have decided to sell our Company Jeep 2. 8 V6 4x4 Wagoneer!
First registered in Dallas, Texas in 1986 and imported to the UK in 1996, this lovely and rare Jeep Wagoneer 2. 8 V6 is a Limited Edition model of the XJ Cherokee that was produced by Jeep between 1983 and 1990 and not to be confused with the similarly named longer wheelbase Grand Wagoneer that had carried the name before.
The Jeep Wagoneer was a variation of the Cherokee produced between 1983 and 1990. These were unrelated to the similarly named full-sized Grand Wagoneer models that had carried the Wagoneer name before this point. The compact XJ Wagoneer was available in two trim levels: the "Wagoneer" and the "Wagoneer Limited". Both Wagoneers were distinguished from the Cherokee models from 1983 to 1985 by a slightly different grille and a smaller "Jeep" emblem offset to the driver's side. Starting in 1985, they changed to two vertically stacked low and high beam headlights with front turn signals moved behind the grille. The Wagoneer Limited came with vinyl wood trim on the sides and leather seats embossed with "Limited" and the Chevrolet LR2 2838cc V6 Petrol Engine version was only produced between 1984 and 1986.
Our Jeep is Finished in Blue with White doors and has its original Blue cloth interior trim with Blue carpets, a relatively new Grey velour headlining, original equipment including Air Conditioning - which works very well, Power Assisted Steering, Electric Windows, a rebuilt 2. 8 V6 115 Bhp Engine which was carried out in 1996 along with a reconditioned 3 Speed Automatic Gearbox in Germany, original Chrome bumpers and Chrome door Mirrors, Tow Bar and its original 15" Alloy Wheels with fairly new Goodyear Wrangler 235/ 75/ R15 Tyres.
A German customer imported the car from Dallas, Texas and took it to Germany before we took it in part exchange from him for an Alfa Spider in September 1996 with the mileage at 129, 000, although it had covered less than 500 miles on the rebuilt Engine and Auto gearbox. It now has 154, 500 miles on the speedo, so only 25, 500 miles since 1996!
It drives really well and the Engine and Auto Gearbox have only covered 26k miles. It has been maintained properly for the last 21 years and has a history file from the USA as well as invoices for the works carried out in Germany and it has a full UK Service History with all MOT certificates from 1996 to date.
We have replaced numerous parts over the years and far too many to mention here, but there are invoices in the file. It is not perfect by any means and you can see from the photo's that some works are required, but overall it is not bad at all.
The current MOT expires on 22nd February 2018, but we will be happy to put a new one on the car subject to selling price and of course we will remove our graphics from the doors before it goes! We have also just taken off a personal registration number and it is now back on its original plate which is: C455 NGJ. It is all clear on HPi and we have the report and Certificate and the mileage covered is genuine, but only 25, 000 on the rebuilt Engine and Gearbox.
These models have become very collectible in the USA and if you search for them on the internet including Ebay, you will find a number for sale in the USA with starting prices for cars in need of restoration at $2, 500 rising to exceptional cars at $30, 000 for Concours examples according to Hagerty Classic Car valuation.
We are looking to achieve £2, 500+ for the Jeep, but we will listen to offers.
