This unrestored MGA 1500 roadster has spent its whole life in the Colorado mountains. As a result of the mild climate, this matching numbers car has been well preserved, which makes it an excellent base for a straightforward restoration.
The MGA has been in dry storage since it was taken off the road in 1979. The factory original Old English White paint was sanded off on most panels, resulting in the current shade of light surface rust. Rust through damage is limited to only the most typical weak body areas: both sills and the lower parts of front and rear fenders. Chassis, floorboard rails, boot floor and inner wings all look very solid and even the wooden floor boards are still mostly intact. The previous owner has started to replace the right hand inner sill, but decided to give up and pass the car on.
Technically everyting on this MG should be rebuilt. The engine turns, but hasn't run in almost 4 decades. It matches the number on the identification plate and looks original and unmodified. Standard 4 speed gearbox and steel wheels. Missing one wheel cap. The MGA is believed to be complete, including a pair of sidescreens, an aftermarket polyester hardtop, service manual, Original instruction handbook, as well as an old booklet from a sports car rally that took place in 1972, in which the car has probably participated.
The interior appears to be complete and the red vinyl seats are still in useable condition. The radio panel cover is missing, all switchgear and gauges are there. One ignition key is included. The mileage of 37. 095 is believed to be original, considering the well-preserved factory paint on much of the body, chassis and engine.
