The Appeal
The Mercedes-Benz 350SLC is the fixed-head coupé sibling of the celebrated R107 SL, sharing its 3.5-litre V8 and effortless grand touring character but offering a pillarless coupé body with genuine rear seating for four. The C107 has always been considerably rarer than its open-topped counterpart, and survivors are becoming increasingly difficult to find - particularly early examples such as this 1972 car, which is reported to be one of the first right-hand drive 350SLCs produced.
This particular example began life in Jersey, and was brought to the UK mainland in 1993. The current owner acquired it in 2022 with 26,800 miles on the odometer and has kept it garaged throughout their ownership. It is accompanied by a substantial history file comprising a service book stamped from 1989, MOT certificates dating back to 2000, and detailed invoices for work including that carried out by SL Shop. Electrical and mechanical issues identified at the time of the current owner's purchase were duly rectified by a specialist.
Offered as a reluctant sale owing to limited use, this 350SLC is a grand ambassador for the golden age of Mercedes-Benz - ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
