The Appeal
Lauded as a "baby E-Type", the Triumph GT6 is based on the celebrated Spitfire/Herald backbone chassis, clothed in Michelotti fastback bodywork. The Mk3 is the final and most refined evolution of Triumph's sports coupé, with the improved swing-spring rear suspension that transformed the model's handling.
Powered by a 2.0-litre straight-six, a rarity in the small British sports car class, the GT6 offered a more capable and characterful alternative to its Spitfire sibling, and the Mk3 remains the most sought-after of the three iterations.
This 1973 example in Daytona Yellow over a black interior is a UK right-hand-drive car accompanied by a substantial history file. A reconditioned overdrive gearbox was fitted in 2024, and the car also features a Webasto-style sunroof. It has gained a degree of fame, having appeared on the television programme Shed & Buried, and was recently won as a prize in a competition by the current registered keeper.
With a current MOT (voluntary) and zero-rated road tax as a historic vehicle, this GT6 Mk3 is reportedly ready to be driven and enjoyed._88A9686.jpg1.54 MB
