Alarm immobiliser with remote controls
Appears to be a very standard car, right down to the lovely factory alloys
The Appeal
The 1980s was, of course, the era of the hot hatch, a time when manufacturers rushed to offer customers warmed-up versions of their everyday family wagons. Some chose the simple route of adding spoilers and bigger wheels but others approached things differently.
Of the latter course, Peugeot is a shining example. The transformation of the humble 205 run-around into a B-road banzai called the GTI is the stuff of legend. Light, nimble and tactile in the fashion of the very best performance cars, the 205 GTI is also quick but it’s really how it drives that sets this fantastic car apart.
This 1990 ‘Phase 1.5’ has the bigger engine and looks resplendent in red. We understand that it was restored during lockdown, although details are scarce, but it looks extremely good in the photos. These are now very collectable cars and like an excitable puppy this one is almost begging to be driven.gmozcxT5zeabaSNomnTbZQhGPy4zS4065f0o6r14.jpg174.62 KB

Complete and apparently undamaged plastic trim in good condition and appears to have recently been treated to thorough ‘back to black’ regime that really enhances the car’s looks
Excellent underside with no advisories on current or recent MOTs for structural issues
Lovely factory standard alloys in excellent condition with no visible marks
Good tyres with decent tread
No visible deterioration of the panels or underside
By offering two engines for hot hatch fans Peugeot cleverly increased the appeal of its era-defining car. For fans of zesty, rev-tastic motoring there is the 1.6, or for those who engage with a gruntier, torquer experience there is the 1.9, like this one.
Looking gorgeous in red, this appears to be a very solid example that has clearly been restored or renovated in recent years. A standard car, it looks very usable and rewarding for the lucky buyer.
