The Appeal

The W211-generation E55 continued Mercedes’ distinctive approach to building super-quick executive charger. Where it competitors majored on nannying technology, the E-Class focused on characterful, torquey power, built around the sonorous 5.4L M113K supercharged V8 which pushes close to 500bhp through the rear wheels. These cars are extremely fast and hugely entertaining.

This 2004 E55 estate is said to be one of only four currently registered in Portugal. The extensive history file shows it was factory-supplied to its first keeper with over €17,200 in optional extras including heated and cooled seats. The Brilliant Silver paintwork and luxurious black leather cabin remain in very good condition.

The vendor tells us that he acquired the car in 2016 from a private collection. Work since then has included an engine overhaul including head gaskets, timing chain, water pump and coolant pipes, alongside regular servicing. The most recent service was in January 2026. The current ITV runs to September 2026.

The vendor says:

“The torque and the engine are nothing like any other big engine. Have experience with Audi's RS6/RS4, BMW's M3, M4 Competition, M5, Maserati's Quattroporte and 3200GT with Ferrari V8 biturbo, and there's nothing similar or comparable to this V8 supercharged. Handling is superb, with the boot capacity for holidays with family and kids in a comfortable cruiser. Funny enough normal motorway driving the fuel consumption is surprisingly good!”
