The Appeal

When the R171 SLK55 arrived in March 2004, there was nothing quite like it on the market. Grunty 5.4L AMG-fettled V8, RWD and that clever folding hard top made it the characterful and versatile alternative to more anodyne rivals.

Factory built in March 2005 and initially dispatched to Japan, this high specification example dials up the visual drama with a rear spoiler and set of black AMG multispokes. Now finished in an attractive shade of dark metallic blue, it is a tidy and well-presented car. It features a long list of desirable options, including Harmon Kardon surround sound, AIRSCARF system and memory pack.

The vendor tells us that the car carries Czech papers and has been EU homologated. There is also a fresh TUV. For those who like their motoring with a healthy dose of excitement and drama, look no further.
