The Interior

Much rarer optioned two tone orange and blue leather interior that gives an exotic feel and has been very well maintained
The original interior features all remain including the standard stereo
All the dials that comprise of the speedometer, tachymeter, oil, water and fuel are all working correctly along with the central digital display
With less than 40,000 miles on the car the high contact areas show little wear with the steering wheel and gear stick retaining good texture and the seat bolsters showing very little wear or creases
The center console condition is excellent with the nice symmetrical dials and gauges all designed for driver only visibility
The boot area is ample with plenty of room for two large bags. Everything is very clean including the spare wheel well, jack and tool kit
The interior trim is a brushed metal, all in good order with some minor marks on the drivers trim
All the switches and knobs all retain a nice matte finish befitting of the age

The Exterior

Superior bodywork all round with no evidence of any significant marks or historic damage that we noticed
Well kept diamond cut wheels don’t show any kerbing marks but do have some minor lacquer peel
The iconic triple headlight setup is the focal point of the car, all 6 lamps have nice clear lenses and bright chrome surrounds
The black convertible top is in very nice order and retains a good finish, no fading and no stains
With the top down the rollover hoops and surrounding area including the wind deflector are all clean and undamaged
All the emblems from front to rear in great condition, the front badge shows no delamination as some often do
The paint finish is excellent retaining a superb shine and superbly clean even in the door shuts and around the boot hinges

The Mechanics

Under the bonnet everything appears excellent. Everything presented is exceptionally clean, nothing out of place or modified
The engine fitted produces 182BHP and is mated to a six speed manual transmission with a factory fitted limited slip differential
All four tyres retain excellent tread
The brakes appear sound with no evidence of corrosion buildup or excessive wear
Aftermarket rear exhausts for a sportier sound and individual appearance suit the car well
The car’s underside is in truly excellent condition appearing very clean with no added underseal. All the suspension components hold some very minor surface corrosion in places but ultimately the underside can’t be faulted, clearly not used in winter months
The engines dipstick shows clean and clear oil

Summary

This charming little Alfa is a real joy to see, the Pininfarina styling is timeless and has been evidently well cared for throughout its life.

The combination of the vivid Montecalo Blue exterior and the rather bohemian interior colours make for a very individual and attractive example of the marque, all well cared for and preserved. It is often said that nothing drives quite like an Alfa, so now is the time to try for yourself and see!
