Quick Mercedes-Benz saloons have never trumpeted their competence and this example leans deeply into that theme. Finished in Obsidian Black with black exterior trim and badging, only a set of red calipers offer any clue to what this car may be.

Inside the sense of restraint continues with black leather and light aluminium highlights. It is a very highly specified car and one that reflects its low mileage. The bodywork is unmarked, likewise the wheels, and the oft-used interior features like the driver’s seat and steering wheel betray few signs of age or traffic.

The standard E63 already had a reputation for tyre-smoking lunacy, echoing the similarly wayward appeal of the original 6.9litre 450SEL. This car turns the standard E63 into something altogether more pedestrian. This is not so much as dialled up to 11 as dispensing with the dial entirely.

All of the work was entrusted to Weistec in California, specialists in this sort of extreme makeover. You can read about the specification above. The result is a 900bhp fire-breathing monster that must surely be amongst the fastest saloon cars currently on British roads.
