Supplied new by Caffyns of Brighton and first registered on 1st August 1978 and finished in its original colour scheme of Brooklands Green with the customary Orange striped velour trim, original 1798cc Engine with a 4 Speed Manual Gearbox and Overdrive, Sun Roof (removable), Pioneer Stereo/ Radio Cassette player, MG mud Flaps and its original refurbished Rostyle Wheels with chrome trims.
This car has only had 2 former keepers with the last lady owner having purchased the car 35 years ago on 26th February 1983 and it has only covered a genuine 53, 700 miles from new with a Full Service history!
After 35 years of ownership she has decided to sell the car as it has not been used and has been dry stored since 1991 until it was taken out of the garage in 2015 and recommissioned. The mileage on the car on its MOT in November 1989 was 52, 436 and on the MOT carried out on 25th August 2015 the mileage was 52, 724 (288 miles), but since 2015 it has only been driven a further 1, 000 miles.
It comes with its original Leyland Cars 'Passport to Service' Book, MG Handbooks, Workshop Manual, original tool kit and a comprehensive Service History with invoices and MOT certificates dating from 1983.
Overall it is in good condition and the underside of the car/ chassis is in excellent condition with no corrosion evident. There is some bubbling on both sills and the bottom of the doors, but this is not severe and there is also some micro blistering on the bonnet, but its general appearance is very good as you can see from the photo's.
Mechanically the car is excellent and it has been very well cared for over the years and it does drive beautifully. It was MOT'd in September 2018 with no advisories. It will also be Road Tax exempt from next year.
