FOR SALE TRIUMPH STAG. 1972 with original triumph engine. I bought this triumph stag from Gordon McNeil of Glasgow who restores classic cars just over a year ago. Since I have had the car I have spent about £2500 getting the car how I want it. I have added black powder coated wire wheels and redone the dash I have also had all the brakes done and suspension replaced back and front. I have added a picture of the letter I received from mr McNeil please be aware that this car is being advertised on various car sites so could be withdrawn at any time. A deposit of £ 100 is required when vehicle is sold.
Description of work carried out by previous owner:
ENGINE - Complete overhaul, re bore new pistons and rings, crankshaft and shell's, oil pump, water pump, chains and sprocket kit, gasket and seals cylinder head overhaul, new valve guides, unleaded valves all gasket's and seals.
REAR AXLE - Complete overhaul with new crown wheel and pinion, bearings, seal's and. Gaskets.
Gear Box - OVerhaul, full service, changes gear smoothly, kick down A1.
Drive Train - Complete overhaul, with new set of universal joints.
Suspension - New front and rear spring's and shocker's.
Brakes - Reconditioned front brake calipers, front brake disc's, brake pads, rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes, brake pipes and flexi brake pipes.
Exhaust - Big bore stainless steel.
Electrics - Reconditioned alternator and starter. New set of halogen Cibi head lights.
Wheel and Tyres - Excellent polished alloys with good tyres.
Chrome Work - 95% new with the rest in good condition. New stainless steel sill covers, new door mirrors.
Badge - All new
HARD TOP / SOFT TOP - Hard top is in very good condition with very good chrome work. There is small tear in the head cloth. Soft top is in very good condition and works as it should.
INTERIOR - Excellent Mrk2 interior, wood panels, seats all good, new carpet set, boot carpet and boot Sun Visors are all in good condition.
PAINT WORK - All in good condition with black pearl metallic paint, which looks excellent with chrome work.
All in all, in my opinion, this is a very good Triumph Stag which cost me approximately £9500. 00 in parts and labour throughout the years, and should in its condition be valued at between £9500. 00 /. £12000. 00.
