Attractions
Any classic car by designer Paul Bracq is sure to attract great interest. Of his many works for European car manufacturers, the E24 'shark nose' is undoubtedly one of the best: a coupé with an unmistakable, clean-cut style that influenced entire generations of BMWs and many other GTs.
Add to its attractive appearance the excellent BMW mechanicals, including the legendary M30 straight-six engines, and you get a really interesting car. Yet examples of the early E24 series are extraordinarily rare, particularly when they are in as good a condition as this one. This is one of the first 633 CSi with the more powerful variant of the M30B32 engine, mated to the rare and particularly coveted manual gearbox.
To realise how good the condition of this car is, one only has to look at the original rubber pedal covers. Will there be another E24 of this era with pedals with so little wear? We doubt it. Recently reconditioned after being part of an important Italian collection for 15 years, this is a truly remarkable example that has covered less than 39,000 km since new. It is extremely original and both the interior and exterior are in excellent condition due to limited use.
Before being offered for sale, numerous components were replaced, including fuel tank, fuel and water pump, thermostat, bulbs, exhaust manifold, calipers and brake discs. The original shock absorbers were restored and the brake lines changed. The original headlights have been cleaned and the front grilles aligned. The car is also accompanied by numerous useful spare parts.
It is indeed very rare to have the opportunity to purchase an early E24 in such good condition, so original and with such low mileage. It is offered for sale with valid overhaul, so it will be ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately.
