The Appeal
You just know some cars are going to be fabulous; you don't even need to get behind the wheel to find out. The Toyota Soarer is one of these cars. A VVT-I V8-engined coupé by Toyota - where do we sign?
Here was a car to beat Mercedes-Benz at its own game and one that could even claim to be better built. Sadly, sports cars are immensely rare in the UK, so great examples such as this fourth-generation car are not to be missed.
The vendor tells us:
"It is a one owner car in Japan and I got it imported to the UK and I have been the only owner since the car was imported to the UK in 2019
"The car is lovely to drive, very powerful, not noisy, extremely comfortable on long drives. I love the colour and the interior of the car, it now looks absolutely fabulous after I upgraded the alloy wheels, they too were imported from Japan to fit this particular model."image.png6.78 MB
History and Paperwork
One-owner car in Japan before import
Imported to the UK in 2019, with the current owner being the only UK-registered keeper
MOT until 13th March 2026
151,985km indicated
The vendor is confident in the car and states that buyers are welcome to conduct their own checks
The vendor notes:
"The engine light and the tyre lights stay on on the dashboard. The reason for these lights to stay on is due to the fact that the the four alloy wheels were upgraded as seen in the pictures, the engine light came on while while driving back home when the car was originally picked up when imported, there is nothing wrong with the engine, it is due to the octane levels in the petrol used in England. It is easy to get the engine light switched off which I have done in the past, but as soon as you fill the tank with petrol, it comes again!
"I have got the car checked by specialist mechanics and they too confirmed that some imported cars from the USA and Japan has the same problem. I also imported another car from the USA and I had the same problem with the engine light coming on. Any buyer is most welcome to conduct their own checks. All MOT's since I imported the car has passed first time and the engine light showing on the dashboard is not a MOT failure on this particular car."
Engine light issue mentioned above is reportedly not an MOT failure for this car
The car has been serviced every year regardless of mileage by a specialist mechanic who knows about Toyota Soarer cars
Since import in March 2019, many original parts have been replaced, four brake disks, all brake pads, steering gear boot, driver passenger-side wiper blades
New tyres fitted in April 2025
All the parts replaced are original from Tap Euro car parts
The vendor comments that the Toyota is powerful, quiet, and comfortable on long drives
