1919 Citroen Type A

Highlights

  • First vehicle manufactured by Citroën
  • Professionally restored
  • Apparently an example with matching numbers
  • Registered in France

The most

The legend of the brand with the chevrons began with the Citroën Type A. During the war, André Citroën was making munitions and quickly realised that when peace arrived, there would be a strong demand for a light car. The Type A finally arrived on the market in 1919, becoming one of the first mass-produced vehicles in France - with production reaching 100 units a day at its peak.

This incredible beige example is brimming with period character and has been lovingly restored by a passionate owner. Its captivating aesthetics, contrasted with deep black elements and an upright stance emblematic of the early days of motoring, are sure to attract many admiring glances.
