The Appeal
Stately, but strong and powerful - the MK VII was a logical progression of the MKV (it only skipped a digit because Bentley had taken the number 6) and quite the machine in its day. Even now, its 100mph-exceeding speeds and palatial cabin is something to take the driver's breath away with excellent reason.
Their distinguished, upright lines may give the impression of a slow luxury cruiser, but many daring motorists found it to be a fabulous rally car and a very capable sports saloon. The still fairly new Jaguar XK was really beginning to cement itself, and the timing was perfect - the MK VII arrived just as the British economy was improving, and demand became so high that Jaguar moved to their wartime Browns Lane plant permanently.
This 1955 example comes to us following plenty of refurbishment work. A bit of work will be required before it can truly return to the road, but it's a fantastic base - the engine has been rebuilt, the bodywork repaired and the cabin retrimmed. Once it's back on the road, we've no doubt it'll be a fantastic classic. image.png3.18 MB
