The Appeal
The 3.8L Mk2 grabs the headlines, but aficionados tend to side with London’s 60s gangsters, who preferred the sweeter-revving 3.4, which was almost as quick. Choose a Mk2 3.4L with the optional manual overdrive gearbox and it’s hard to think of a more perfect classic saloon.
This fabulous ‘62 3.4 MOD is finished in arguably the best colour combination for these beautiful cars - gunmetal grey metallic over burgundy leather. It is in really nice condition, the usual Mk2 check areas of door bottoms, arches, leading edges of front wings and boot lid presenting very well. The history file indicates an older restoration.
The vendor tells us that their father acquired the car in 2011. The history file is bulging, and there is the added reassurance of a lengthy MOT valid to March 2026. There are no structural advisories.
This is a fine example of the perennially popular MK2.
