The Appeal

The 289ci 'Small-Block' V8 has long been hailed as the plant that really made the Mustang. It meant that the world's greatest Pony Car had impressive performance out of the gate, all wrapped up in a characterful package that captured the imagination. Finding one bearing original Italian registration plates from the period is remarkably rare — very few were privately imported to Italy in the late 1960s.

This example retains its original Rome plates from 1967 and comes with a notable backstory: the previous owner, a noted collector, reported that the car belonged to the wife of the American ambassador stationed in Rome at the time. The car has recently benefited from a comprehensive service including a new carburettor, and is said to be driving well.

A desirable engine, attractive colour and fine condition - this is a fine classic through-and-through.
