The Appeal
To remain competitive in the age of the ‘hot hatchback’, Ford turned the Escort front-wheel drive in 1980 and continued demand for a high-performance variant led to the creation of the fuel-injected XR3i. It was the must-have ‘Fast Ford’ of its day, proving immensely popular from the outset and remaining a sought-after classic to this day.
We’re pleased to offer this beautifully restored MkIV example, dating from 1989. The vendor informs us that it has since won several awards at the likes of Silverstone and Goodwood. It boasts some period-correct upgrades with an RS Turbo body kit and rims as well as a Magnex exhaust and Powerflex suspension bushes.
Impeccably presented and with an advisory-free MOT, it's ready to be driven and enjoyed.
