The Appeal
You get the sense, looking at this smart Zircon Blue, that for the Super V8 Jaguar, threw caution to the wind. Whether it’s the supercharged 400bhp V8 from the XJR or the premium luxury interior with virtually every available option, this car cuts no corners.
Only a handful were ever built, with figures ranging from 100 to 800 worldwide. This 2003 model is an original UK market car finished in attractive Zircon Blue metallic with an ivory leather interior. The condition is impressive as is the low mileage.
The vendor’s wife bought the car for him as a 60th birthday present. The previous keeper, we are told, had the car for 10 years and covered just 1,000 miles, dry storing it for most of that time. Despite the low mileage the car received new Yokohama tyres plus replacement brakes, discs and pads. These have therefore covered few miles since being fitted.
Since receiving the car earlier this year the vendor has recommissioned it via specialist. This has included general checks plus a full service. We are told that the prior service history is continuous, showing 10 entries, mostly by main dealers.
The car is in good order with a leaper and UK flags added to underline its provenance. There are a few points to consider in the description, but nothing hindering its appearance or immediate use. It comes to market with a usefully long MOT valid to August 2026.
The vendor says:
“I purchased a new XJ Sport Diesel in 2004 for my 40th but this Super V8 is in a different league. The car is very pleasant to drive and a lovely environment to be in. The car looks beautiful, and I think Super V8s in Zircon Blue are very rare. Owning this car has been a very pleasant trip down memory lane, and I’ve used the car most days, but I live deep in the countryside, a field inland in a barn conversion and don’t have garaging to store this car, so I must be practical. It’s a car to be garaged and brought out on the weekend. I’ve considered the cars imperfections when agreeing the reserve price.”
