THE APPEAL
The Porsche 911 has long been considered the ultimate rear engine sports car. In 2004 the Stuttgart based manufacturer unveiled the 997 series, which continued the evolution of the ever popular 911. The new model debuted in both cabriolet and coupe form and was powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6 litre flat six engine. The all wheel drive Carrera 4S arrived in 2005, with the engine size growing to 3.8 litre.
A sports exhaust, adjustable suspension and 19” wheels set it apart from the base Carrera, with the 4x4 system being the cherry on the cake. And it is this very model, a Carrera 4S Cabriolet with the desirable 6 speed manual gearbox, that is being offered for sale here on Car and Classic.

SUMMARY
The 997 series 911 really has aged superbly and it still looks fresh and modern today. Metallic black is a colour that really suits this 2009 Carrera 4S and the triple black specification, especially in manual guise makes it quite rare.
With 385BHP on tap we expect this is a lot of fun to drive, which can only be made better by that 6 speed manual gearbox. Added to that is the Porsche all wheel drive system which really makes this the 997 to have.
