THE APPEAL

One of the most famous microcars produced, this iconic BMW Isetta, is being offered as a part-finished restoration project. The vendor purchased the Isetta from the estate of a gentleman who was restoring it several years ago. 
It is thought to have 90% of the parts, and the body is in very good condition, apart from a dent in the front door and wheel arch. This makes it an ideal base to work with whether you finish this restoration or use it for donor parts for an Isetta in a partially restored state. 
Please note: As this was purchased as a part project, the vendor cannot be sure what parts are actually missing.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK 

  • Unfortunately, there is no paperwork included with the Isetta 

THE INTERIOR

  • The seat looks to be in good condition
  • There are some indentations on the seat from where parts have been resting
  • The floor area looks to be in good condition, with no areas of corrosion spotted 
  • The steering wheel and column are present 
  • The pedal assembly is included 

THE EXTERIOR

  • Finished with white over red colour scheme
  • The body appears to be in good condition 
  • There is some damage to the front corner of the wheel arch and door
  • Engine cover is included, but not painted red
  • Some of the bubble windows are included, but there are no seals
  • The two-piece wheels only have the front faces, the rear pieces are missing
  • Some body parts are included 

THE MECHANICS

  • The engine is included but is partially stripped
  • The gearbox is also included but untested
  • New brake pipes and hoses have been installed 
  • The shock absorbers have been refurbished 
  • Fuel tank included 
  • The underside of the Isetta is nice and clean, with no areas for concern

An ideal project for someone who has a passion for classic microcars. Once finished, you will have the satisfaction of resurrecting one of the most head-turning microcars of all time, and the effort will definitely be worth it.
