DUBONNET METALLIC WITH BLACK HIDE INTERIOR
CHASSIS NUMBER DB6/ 3202/ R

Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this wonderful Aston Martin DB6 Vantage on behalf of a well-known London-based collector. A matching numbers original Vantage model, first registered in Preston, Lancashire, this right-hand drive car was exported to Australia, which explains its remarkable preserved condition. It is being offered at a very sensible market price which provides a real opportunity for the buyer.
The DB6 Vantage has the optional factory-fitted Normalair air conditioning unit fitted, which also imparts a wonderful 1960’s period-feel to the cabin, as well as keeping the car cool whilst touring. Resplendent in its popular original Dubonnet metallic paint colour, the black Connolly hide-covered seats are in excellent original condition and defy their 50 plus years. The chrome wire-spoked wheels are also in excellent condition.
2 inches longer than its predecessors, the DB6 offered more rear leg room and extra headroom. Known as a Kamm tail, the revised rear styling assisted with high-speed stability, the DB6 had a lower drag coefficient of only Cd 0. 36. The rear quarter-lights had a new shape, which many aficionados believe to be derived from the Zagato-bodies DB4 GT. Quarter bumpers, rather than the previous heavy-looking full width items, also added to the aesthetic improvements.
In the sought-after triple-Weber Vantage form, the DB6 developed 325 bhp at 5, 500 rpm, and 290 lb/ ft torque at 4, 500 rpm on a 9. 4:1 compression ratio. The Vantage-engined cars achieved 150 miles per hour top speed and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in just 6. 1 seconds. The 5-speed ZF gearbox was carried over from the DB5 model. Chassis number 3202 benefits from having the later-type Borg & Beck clutch, which replaced the earlier Laycock version.
Supplied by Aston Martin Heritage after a full restoration following its return to the UK, this DB6 Vantage is ready to be appreciated and enjoyed. The detailed engine bay alone is a clear testimony to the skill of the craftsmen at Newport Pagnell.
Complete with original Aston Martin instruction manual, workshop manual and parts manuals, and invoice from R. S Williams, the car is ready to be inspected at our London showrooms.
