For sale here is a 1961 Vauxhall Velox. Finished in two tone Blue with matching two tone interior. Sold new to a Mr. G W Langridge of Royston in Herts in January 1961 and still carrying it's original number plate of 948 CMJ. Lovely smooth straight 6 cylinder 2, 600 cc engine, 3 on the tree column change. Overall not bad for it's age, body seems solid as does the underneath, it has had some welding to the floors in the past, but hey which 62 year old Vauxhall hasn't. Chrome is all there and shows no sign of damage but the finish in places is getting thin. Inside the seats have been recovered in a period two tone vinyl, the carpets are all new.
The car starts on the button and settles into a lovely tick over, so smooth, it's like a swiss watch ! Gears all operate as they should, clutch is as it should be, brakes are good.
We have the original Vauxhall service book along with hand written notes from previous owner/ s showing service history from 1961 at 1, 000 miles to 89, 400 mile in 1975.
There are so few of these old PA Vauxhalls on the road now. A true bit of British nostalgia with a big smattering of American in your face chrome and fins.
