This CL420 was purchased new in October 1997, by a Wing Commander with an SW1 London postcode, from Normand of Mayfair. It is unusually specified with Violan metallic paintwork with contrasting light grey Nappa leather. The CL coupés were all highly specified, sitting at the top of Mercedes’ model range, with luxuries such as cruise control, climate control and electric memory seats as standard. This car was further equipped with factory fit single-piece AMG 18” wheels, electric rear window blind, orthopaedic driver’s seat and a wood/ leather steering wheel.
Little over 4000 miles had been covered when, in 2003, the car went to its second keeper who garaged it but hardly used it. So when he parted with the car in 2015, the mileage stood at 6, 600 miles. Today it has covered 6, 744 miles.
This CL has all its original books and manuals, two remote keys and a Full Service History comprising of seven services. All bar one at MB main dealers. That’s an average of less than 1000 miles between services. The last service was carried out in May 2018, 17 miles ago.
The condition is, quite simply, as new and totally original. It is like stepping back in time to 1997.
