This stunning Porsche 356 Coupe from the fully evolved 'C' model production run benefits from having been kept in the mild California climate since new and retains its original, numbers matching engine. According to a copy of the original Porsche factory build sheet (Kardex) on file, 356C chassis no. 215303 was produced at the Zuffenhausen-based Porsche Works during the Summer of 1963 and exited the production line on August 23rd, 1963 and was one of the 2, 229 Coupe examples coach-built by Karmann for Porsche. This 356 C was fitted with engine number 710348 - as fitted in the car today - and finished in 'Hell-Elfenbein' (Ivory) over a Red 'Kunstleder' vinyl interior. From its completion, this Porsche was fitted with chrome wheels and equipment for the US market as it was destined for the West Coast where P. C. Pacific Porsche of Burlingame, California delivered the car to the first owner, a gentleman by the name of Richard B. Gage. Records indicate this 356 returned to P. C. Pacific Porsche again in 1965 for service work.
By 1968, this Ivory-colored 356 C came into the ownership of its previous caretaker, another California-based Porsche enthusiast who kept this Porsche in his possession for the next 54 years. A recent service was performed on this well-kept and very original Porsche, during which time a new exhaust was fitted. Today, this Porsche presents in lovely condition inside and out, still sporting its original livery of Heron Grey (Off-White) over Red. A wood-rimmed steering wheel is fitted alongside a period Blaupunkt radio situated in the dash. Original factory finishes and hardware are present in many places; all-in-all, the car has a very authentic look and feel. This matching numbers 356 C 1600 Coupe is ready for its next owner to drive and enjoy, offering timeless styling and reliability for which Porsche is known.
