The Appeal
The Heritage Edition was Land Rover’s way of bidding farewell to the classic Defender: a limited edition paying homage to “Huey”, the legendary 1948 Series I registered as HUE 166. With only 400 examples produced, each dressed in era-inspired Grasmere Green, a contrasting Alaska White roof and nostalgic detailing, the Heritage model condensed decades of Defender heritage into one highly sought-after package by collectors.
This France-registered example shows around 43,500 kilometres and would be accompanied by a maintenance history supported by invoices. A wooden steering wheel has been fitted, although the original perforated leather item is included in the sale. Mechanically, the seller reports the vehicle runs well, with a recent intervention by HANGAR 166 in Mérignac covering apparently the CV joint seals and bearings. With its Technical Inspection valid until July 2026 and the seller indicating no expenditure planned, this is a notable opportunity to acquire one of the most sought modern-classic Land Rovers, in well-preserved condition.
