A now very rare special edition Polo that is in good condition, is easy to find in a car park and often draws a smile and compliments. Mechanically excellent and only 80k on clock. Included in sale is original VW sales brochure (in German) and unused genuine VW gear change knob and gaiter with Harlequin logo. Externally all the body panels are original although rear wheel arches have been professionally repaired and re sprayed where edges blistered and rusted. All four alloy wheels are original with minor scuffing only. Have spare brand new centre cap still in VW packaging. Interior condition commensurate with use for local commuting and usually with no passenger. No tears or stains on special edition cloth and car retains the original floor mats with blue edging. Car boot unmarked. A VW Harlequin, of which 500 were made and 113 RHD versions imported to UK. Thought to be only about 25 still on the road. This Harlequin was registered on 1 August 1996 and retained by VW. The car was placed in storage in about 1999, and with just 6, 000 covered was sold in 2003. The buyer was a VW enthusiast who maintained it fastidiously until sold to present lady keeper in 2008 who saw car for sale at VW show and “had to have it”
Has all MOT’s from 2003 to date and service / repair paperwork. Harlequin has now covered just 81k and has largely been used to drive to local place of work.. Currently MOT’d to 17 March 2023. Car starts reliably and drives very well. All tyres in very good condition and although covers few miles each year was serviced regularly and any repairs carried out by local garages with supporting paperwork retained.
