1967, the year Elvis Presley broke many a heart by marrying Priscilla, the Boeing 737 took its first flight, Jimi Hendrix released a new album and the year our Cougar was born in Dearborn.
The lyrics we write are always from our own hand but for the Cougar we would still like to use a passage from the brochure: “The relationship between a man and a his car is a very special thing. A car is many things to a man. A passport to adventure…. An open road beckoning… and a well-travelled trip to work”. It gets even better. “A man expects a lot from his car. Good looks that are a constant source of pride. Performance that won’t let him down. A quite authoritative ride. Integrity of workmanship. A car that protects and pampers the ones he loves. It takes a lot of car to satisfy a man – and he gets it on his Mercury, the Man’s car!
That they were doing audience segmentation is obvious. But after reading this, aren’t you totally sold? Not yet? Then let’s kick it up a notch.
