I do still have the 1997 original bill of sale which outlines all of the optional extras and that it was sold for £38, 000. And all other paperwork.
A lot of money has been spent on this car, it was in dry storage for a number of years so needed a slight recommision when I purchased it,
this consisted of:
New lower mileage auto gear box. (Done by mercedes specialist)
New conductor plate and plug
All sills and jacking points welded.
Factory underseal removed to find and treat rust.
Subframe removed, treated and undersealed.
New bushes
New upper and lower suspension arms.
New blower motor
Engine service
New aux belt
Amg alloys with h&r spacers 30mm front 40mm rear.
New exhaust, only a cheap one, sounds pretty good. Can also be quiet when you want as its auto.
When it's gone wrong I've had it fixed at a trusted local garage and I've slowly been making my way through all of its little problems. I have receipts for everything and photos of the subframe out.
Main thing that let's this car down is the paint.
Its had a poor respray at some point in its life and although it saved a lot of the body from rust it is tatty. A respray was on my list of things but after 3 years of ownership and £4-5k spent on this i feel like I should let someone else finish it off. One wheel arch starting to rust and a couple of very minor patches elsewhere which I will probably sort.
Sills, jacking point and boot tray all fine.
Little bad bits:
rear parking sensors dont detect as one of the sensors has stopped working(cheap fix)
Climate control plasma screen has gone weird. Still readable, just, and the buttons all function correctly (Another cheap fix).
Passenger front door has slight vacuum leak in locking system that occasionally makes the pump in the boot work harder. Makes the door sometimes harder to open. I will probably fix this very soon before sale.
