Rover 416SLI Tourer
MOT'd until March 2024, Fully serviced in January 2023 at 88k miles
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a Rover 400 Tourer with full service history of which there are very few left on the road. This car remained in the same family from new until February 2021 when I purchased it. Prior to myself it had only two keepers who were father and daughter.
This Rover is fitted with the dependable 1. 6 litre Honda D16 petrol engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. It runs and drives superbly and has not once let me down in the two years I have owned it. The engine is smooth, does not use any oil or water and I've known it to achieve over 45mpg on a long run.
SLI specification includes velour seats, wood cappings, electric sunroof, 2x electric windows, alarm & immobiliser, remote central locking and electric mirrors.
This car has been lovingly maintained throughout its life with no expense spared and comes with an enormous history file filled with stacks of invoices, old v5s, the original bill of sale from Wrynams Rover of Salisbury, and much more.
This is a very original car so isn't in mint condition and there are some areas that could use attention. The body work is rough around the edges with a few scuffs, dents and lacquer peel. The interior is excellent with no rips/ tears on the seats, however the headlining is sagging.
Virtually everything on the car works besides a few minor issues: The passenger side electric window cannot be lowered, the electrics work but the glass has detached from the runner. The central locking only works on nearside doors. The original Rover stereo was replaced in 2006 with an Alpine radio/ CD player which does work but there is no sound from the speakers. Otherwise the car is in good working order,

Overall this is a well looked after example of an increasingly rare car.
I intended to keep this car for a long time and will be truly sorry to see it go but I have two other Rovers and this one gets the least use. I very much doubt there's another 400 Tourer on the market which has been maintained to such a high standard.
